About Delia Sewell, ND

“I want my patients to be healthy and happy! We are all surviving, but true health comes when we feel like we are THRIVING in life. Whether you just don’t feel like you used to or you are dealing with a chronic condition, let’s explore the root cause together. I value getting to know each of my patients, which allows me to provide compassionate, empowering, and customized care to fit your needs. I aim to encourage the body’s own self-healing process through the use of natural therapies, combining both ancient healing methods and modern scientific research.”

My Story

Dr. Delia Sewell is a licensed Naturopathic Physician and owner of New Leaf Health & Wellness. She earned her premedical bachelor of science degree with a full scholarship from Kennesaw State University near Atlanta, Georgia. She then attended the prestigious National University of Natural Medicine where she received her Naturopathic Doctor degree and clinical training. Trained as a general practitioner, she is comfortable addressing a wide variety of health concerns. Her approach includes the use of botanical medicine, nutritional consultation, lifestyle counseling, and hormone therapies.

"I began my journey into natural medicine by simply asking one question: Why? Questioning the options given to me led me to discover an entire branch of medicine I never knew existed, but knew instantly was critically needed by all. Humans are beautifully complex, and as hard as we try, there is no one-size-fits all solution to any specific problem. Luckily, there are entire bands of providers passionate about a different kind of healthcare. One where medicine is an art, where nature is honored, and the patient is at the center of it all.

My passion was ignited, to learn as much as I could about Naturopathic medicine. I went online to find out how one becomes a Naturopathic Doctor. At the time, there were only 4 accredited programs in the U.S, all over 2000 miles from my home town in Georgia. Making an action plan was no small feat. My son was 6 years old when we packed up our tiny car, and drove across the country to Portland, OR so I could start the next chapter of my education. A decision that changed my life forever, and allows me to change the lives of others every day.

I feel lucky to have a career that supports my learning addiction, and allows me to empower others to learn how to take care of themselves better. I've had some amazing teachers along the way, but the greatest teachers will always be my patients and clients. When I'm not working, you can find me tinkering with my plant collection, hanging out with my dogs, concocting something in the kitchen, or getting lost with family and friends."
